TRAINING SERVICES

Driver CPC

As of September 2009 all drivers with vehicles needing a category D1, D1+E, D or D+E and C1, C1+E, C or C+E licenses have been required to undertake regular periodic training. ACT provide the full range of courses both class and vehicle based that allow the driver to attain their professional Driver CPC qulification.

National/International CPC

This course is for anyone wishing to become a manager within the Road Haulage Industry. The course covers all the information required to be able to pass the OCR Cerificate of Professional Competence in National/International Road Haulage as laid down in EU directive 98/76/EC. This course can be taken as a two week intensive classroom based course or with our online service which the candidate can complete in their own time.

Traffic Office

A two day course to provide traffic planners and others with administrative responsibilities for drivers with an introduction to employment law, health & safety, driver licensing, the powers of various enforcement agencies, people management and a detailed look at the drivers hours legislation provided by EC Regulation 561/2006.This modular course can be tailored to suit the needs of your organisation by the substitution, if necessary, of modules specifically designed to your requirements. The course can be delivered at our Cross Hands training facility or at your own premises.  The maximum number of candidates accepted on this course is 12.

Driver Assessments

Each assesment typically lasts 1 hour. The assessment is designed to aid your driver recruitment and selection process and provides a report as to the competence of your prospective driver. A modified version of this scheme can be used to assess drivers at regular intervals or prehaps following involvement in an accident or where there is a suspicion of poor driving.

First Aid at Work

This 1 day course is appropriate for anyone with first aid responsibilities in the workplace.  Our trainer is M.Inst. SRM, M.I.L.A.M. qualified and will certificate all successful candidates.  Candidates will learn how to assess the priorities of treatment, demonstrate resuscitation procedures and know what action should be taken when dealing with first aid conditions in their workplace.  The course will include the recognition and treatment of shock, bleeding, airway obstructions and heart attacks.
